After being with me for 10 months, Luna has finally found her forever home! Carl & I met Luna’s new Mom Barbara and Aunt Linda today to finalize the adoption. She went home to meet her new Dad Joseph, sisters Molly (Shih Tzu) and Brandy (17 year old Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix), kitties Scamp & Buffy.
Luna was very nervous during the ride to meet Barbara. Once there, she sniffed Barbara’s & Linda’s fingers, allowed me to pick her up and hand her to Barbara.
You have to understand a couple of things about Luna. She came from a local puppy mill. She is great with other dogs, thinks chasing cats is great fun but is VERY distrustful of people. Even after being with me for so long, I could only lift Luna when she was cornered. She only kissed my fingertips and allowed me to scratch behind her ears at arm’s length.
In the second picture, where Luna and Barbara are looking at each other, Luna had just kissed Barbara on the chin.
Luna is home at last.
